Loving...12 Tags and Letters!

I have to admit I was a bit bummed when Tim Holtz announced he wasn't going to do the 12 Tags of Christmas later this year.  I know it's such a busy time, but I love the rush, the creativity, the excitement of wondering what that day's tag would look like.  But I also thought about all the extra time I'd have to actually wrap gifts before Christmas Eve and prepare for the holidays...AND I love that each month we'll have a new tag to ooh and ahh over and try to re-create.  So, with that said, I'm so happy to show you my tag for February...

As usual, being a Tim Holtz groupie, I had most of the supplies to re-create this month's tag; however, I only had one package of the honey comb paper in my stash...lucky for me, it was red!  This was such a fun tag to create...and I do cherish it.  I added the small easel to the back and figure I'll do that with each month's tag so I can display it in my home.  Wow...Tim's tags on display year-round...I think I like the idea of the 12 Tags of 2012!!

I'm also currently signed up for an online class with Joanne Sharpe called Letter Love 101.  It's something different for me, but I was really intrigued by the class and the idea of learning some different lettering styles.  Sometimes I want to write a sentiment on a card because I don't have just the right message in a stamp and I thought this class might help.  I also love Joanne's style in creating collages using lettering.  There is a different assignment each day for the entire month of February.  My schedule just won't allow me to keep up each day, but I'm taking my time and doing each assignment as I can.  Here's a look at my lettering journal and my first few assignments...I need a lot more practice!  Hopefully, I'll have more to show you in the days & weeks ahead!
