Sunday Play Time...

I received my set of Tim Holtz Distress Markers Friday and couldn't wait to play with them!  They are wonderful...I love how the ink blends together...just like the Distress Ink Pads...AWESOME!  Here are some of the cards I created today...

Supplies:  Cardstock - Basic White (PaperTrey Ink), Chipped Sapphire Kraft Core (Core'dinations); Watercolor (Strathmore); Stamps - Believe (Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions / Ranger); In Yourself (PaperTrey Ink), Butterflies & Matching Dies (Hero Arts); Ink - Jet Black Archival (Ranger), Distress Markers; Other - Perfect Pearls Mist, White Embossing Powder (Hero Arts), Water Brush

Supplies:  Cardstock - Basic White (PaperTrey Ink), Watercolor (Strathmore); Stamps - Silhouette Meadow Flowers & Sentiment (Hero Arts); Ink - Victorian Violet (Brilliance), Distress Markers; Other - Rainbow Ribbon, Water Brush

I was inspired to create this card based on this post from Damask Love.  I used some Spellbinders dies to create the masks.  Sentiment is PTI.

And these cards were created around the crinoline flowers from another project that didn't work quite right...but I like the how the cards turned out!  Cardstock, Ribbon & Sentiments are PTI.

Have a GREAT week!

Loving...12 Tags and Letters!

I have to admit I was a bit bummed when Tim Holtz announced he wasn't going to do the 12 Tags of Christmas later this year.  I know it's such a busy time, but I love the rush, the creativity, the excitement of wondering what that day's tag would look like.  But I also thought about all the extra time I'd have to actually wrap gifts before Christmas Eve and prepare for the holidays...AND I love that each month we'll have a new tag to ooh and ahh over and try to re-create.  So, with that said, I'm so happy to show you my tag for February...

As usual, being a Tim Holtz groupie, I had most of the supplies to re-create this month's tag; however, I only had one package of the honey comb paper in my stash...lucky for me, it was red!  This was such a fun tag to create...and I do cherish it.  I added the small easel to the back and figure I'll do that with each month's tag so I can display it in my home.  Wow...Tim's tags on display year-round...I think I like the idea of the 12 Tags of 2012!!

I'm also currently signed up for an online class with Joanne Sharpe called Letter Love 101.  It's something different for me, but I was really intrigued by the class and the idea of learning some different lettering styles.  Sometimes I want to write a sentiment on a card because I don't have just the right message in a stamp and I thought this class might help.  I also love Joanne's style in creating collages using lettering.  There is a different assignment each day for the entire month of February.  My schedule just won't allow me to keep up each day, but I'm taking my time and doing each assignment as I can.  Here's a look at my lettering journal and my first few assignments...I need a lot more practice!  Hopefully, I'll have more to show you in the days & weeks ahead!

Happy Valentine's Day...

Just a quick stop by the blog to say hello...and Happy Valentine's Day!  I've been super busy with another online class - which I'll share with you soon - and work, and work, and work!  So, there hasn't been a lot of play time lately.  Enjoy these quick and easy cards.  The glitter heart card is a technique that David Brethauer of Memory Box shared on his blog.  Have a GREAT day...and I'll see ya real soon!
