Fun with Flowers...

Just a few more samples using the Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals die...

The red and light blue flowers were stamped with Archival Ink, then saturated with water, crumpled and allowed to air dry.  The purple flower was done the same way, then dipped in UTEE.  The yellow flower was cut from card stock and the edges were inked with Distress Ink.  And finally, the red/orange stick pin flower was made with grungepaper covered with music paper, inked with Distress Inks and covered with Rock Candy Stickles for a little shimmer.  

Tattered Florals Journal Page...

The awesome and lovely Miss Dyan Reaveley makes art journaling look so very easy...*sigh*...I think I need a lot more practice!  I had a lovely idea spinning around in my head to use the tattered florals die as a mask to create a cool journal page (sorry...I meant to take more photos of the progress).  My colors didn't quite blend as well as Dyan's.  I'm thinking I needed more water....and talent! Well...hopefully I can try again another time...but for now, here's the mess I made...trust me, I sprayed EVERYWHERE!  :-)

Tattered Florals Challenge...

Tim Holtz has issued a challenge...the Tattered Floral Challenge!  I have so many ideas I want to try...I love that Tim did this!  So...all I need is some free time to play and create...yep, that's all I need.  I had a short time earlier today, so I created this card using the die as a stamp.  Hopefully, I'll have more to share soon!  Join me...take the challenge!!

Okay...so another class has come and gone.  Well, at least I got one card made...on day 1.  *sigh*  Too much work...too little (like zero) fun, creative time.  I changed that today...a lazy Sunday at home...spent doing laundry, with some crafty time for me...YAY!  I decided to get my February tag done, so here you go...I Heart You...until next time!

New class...

It's been way too long since I've had time to play & create!  I started a new class with Online Card Classes this past week called Clean & Simple Card Making 2.

Unfortunately, I was traveling for work and didn't have a chance to play along until today.  I wanted to create some cards to thank three fabulous board members who traveled to the conference with me and this is what I did for them...

Supplies:  Cardstock - Basic White (PaperTrey Ink) and Bermuda Bay (Stampin' Up!); Ink - Wet Cement (Hero Arts), Jet Black Archival (Ranger), Unicorn White (Memories); Stamps - You & Absolutely (Simon Says Stamp), Leaf & Floral Background (Hero Arts); Die - You (Simon Says Stamp); Other - White Embossing Powder (Hero Arts), Signo White Pen, Micron Black Pen, Circle Punch.

I did have a couple of days to play last week before my conference, which included my first visit to Las Vegas...and Hoover Dam...what an amazing site!

Two years ago, I created my 12 Tags of Christmas in a 12-slot tray...

I proudly display it all throughout the Christmas season, so I thought I'd put this year's tags into two 4x6 trays from 7 Gypsies.  I can't wait to see how this project progresses!

Finishing 2012...

I can't believe it's been two months since my last post...I'm such a bad blogger.  :-(

It's been so hectic trying to get ready for the Holidays and creating gifts, cards and shopping.  Things are settling down a bit, but it's back to the grind and work on Wednesday.  So, I took today to finish my December tags and I'm ready to start new projects in 2013.  And, I realized that I never posted November's tag...so it's here, too.  I promise I'll be back in a day or two to post pictures of everything I've been working on.  In the meantime...

Couldn't sleep...

It was a (not so) bright and early morning for me...way too early!  Lots of reasons why I couldn't sleep, and one of the reasons was I couldn't stop thinking about yesterday's amazing ideas from the Holiday Card Workshop...wow!  Here's a card I created incorporating ideas from all of yesterday's teachers...have a great day!

The image was colored with Inktense colored pencils, using a water brush dipped in Biscotti Perfect Pearls Mist...it adds a wonderful, soft shimmer.  The image was also outlined with grey Copic markers...I love how it makes the image pop.

Getting ready...

It's hard to believe as we deal with Hurricane Sandy here in the Northeast that the Holidays are just around the corner!  They'll be here before we know it.  A new class started today to help me kick start my holiday card making...and I took a little time this evening to create this cute 3x3 mini card...

Trick or Treat Frame...

I was so fortunate to win some Halloween goodies from Tim Holtz last week on his blog...

I took some time today to play and created a Halloween decoration for our home...

My sincere thanks to Tim and Mario for always be so generous!  The trick or treat sentiment is covered in glow-in-the-dark glitter.  The pumpkin is covered in orange rock candy distress glitter that I colored using Sunset Orange alcohol ink.  The background of the pumpkin is acetate colored with various alcohol ink colors.  The cat was painted black and covered with black flocking.
