Inspired by Tim!

My crafty time is quite limited these days with work and school and life commitments, but I am THRILLED that Online Card Classes is offering a summer full of Tim Holtz inspiration and a third Creative Chemistry class!  I will do my best to share some creations this summer in the midst of everything else!  I'm off to a good start, creating a card for the first challenge from Creative Chemistry 101 - which was to use four Distress Inks on a card or tag.  I needed a graduation card, so here's my first (hopefully one of many) summer submission...

Supplies:
Inks - Distress Ink (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet and Twisted Citron) (Ranger); Jet Black Archival (Ranger); Paper - Basic White (PaperTrey Ink); Stamps - Happy Trails (PaperTrey Ink); Other - Clear Wink of Stella (Zig), foam tape.

So much inspiration!

There have been some AWESOME cards and ideas shared in the OCC Stretch Your Stamps 2 class!  There are so many cards I want to make, but there's just not enough time!!  When I saw today's videos, I had to give this one a try.  It's a bit busy for my liking…you have to know when to stop with the doodling!  But it was fun and definitely out of my comfort zone, so I'll have to give it another try on another day.  Sad that there's only two days left of class, but maybe I'll catch up on all the ideas I have!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

More watercolor fun!  I used a new Dreamweaver stencil, watercolor pencils, Distress Inks and markers, Tim's Watercolor Paper, Wendy Vecchi Archival Ink and colored card stock and sentiment from PaperTrey Ink.  Thanks for visiting!!

Watercolor backgrounds...

I created several watercolor backgrounds using Tim Holtz stencils, watercolor paper and Distress Inks.  They're almost too pretty to use for cards!  ;-)

Remembering the journey...

Okay, so Summer Card Camp 2 is over and I made one card...geesh!  I need more play time!!  I am taking another class - Technique Toolbox - with Claudine Hellmuth at Big Picture Classes.  It's a fun class...lots of great techniques!  I was inspired by a project created by Mau Saha and wanted to use my favorite picture from our cruise to Alaska a couple of years ago.  The photo is of the Disney Wonder taken in Skagway, Alaska.  It's an 8" X 8" canvas and I used Tim Holtz stamps, Claudine's Sticky Back Canvas for the sentiment and the gesso transfer technique.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a creative summer!

Much-Needed Crafty Time...

It has been way too long since I've had any time in my craft room.  I think my supplies thought I abandoned them (and I felt that way, too)!  But...I took today to just play and create and got caught up with my Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013.

Here is May's tag...
I used the new rub-ons, like Tim did, but I also added some gold embossing paste over a stencil for the main focal point.

And June's tag...

I have been putting my tags into a 6-slot tray - the first of which is now complete!

Hopefully, I'll be back soon.  I am taking several online classes this summer, so I hope to have plenty of reason to create some new cards and things...now if I can just find the time!

Happy Stamping!!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Harley...

A friend of mine, Jenn Shurkus, has a wonderful cat named Mr. Harley and he celebrated his 5th birthday this week, so I made him a card to help celebrate.  Mr. H....may your year be filled with tuna and catnip!!

April Tag & Happy Winner...

I was so excited when Tim revealed his April tag!  First, he was using his new Distress Paints and the new Metallic Distress Paints...very cool techniques!  And, because I was lucky to be chosen as one of the March winners!

Here are the goodies that Mario sent right away...

I am so grateful for the wonderful new things that came my way!  Thank you Tim & Mario!!  I love the new rub-ons and those enamel tags!  And that locket...there's an idea in my head for that one, too!  Now I just need work to slow down a bit so I can have some play time.  Well, I don't think that's in the cards for a while, but I did take time today to create my April tag.   I just love the Patina look that is created so easily with the new Distress Paints.

I had another idea for this tag, but I couldn't resist using the dragonfly with those wings.  Hopefully I'll have a chance to share that other idea soon.  Have a happy Spring...I hope it arrives in the Northeast soon!  And happy creating!!  See you soon...
